Stemming from fields and forests from around the world, our Mental Essentials collection is a range of 10 essential oils that have unique mental benefits which affect the brain's ability to uplift or relax us.
Creating the collection
Our oils are sourced globally and the plants and flowers they're derived from are so diverse and we wanted to explore the regions they came from as well as honour their history and traditions. We all experience the same emotions and that unites us as well so we turned our signature collection into a series of 10 characters with personalities that match the mood of each oil.
Bringing the characters to life
We worked with talented California-based artist MRBBABY who created hand-painted characters based on each oil's physical appearance as well as the cultural clothing and fashion trends of the region where each of the essential oils comes from.

Each oil in the Mental Essentials collection comes with a collector's print by MRBBABY and an insightful and hilarious look at the personality of each oil.
You'll also receive a detailed user guide that will help you understand the history, safety, blending information and top uses of each oil.
When you use one of these oils you're uniting your senses with a visual representation of its mood-transforming properties. So, inhale the oil, read the card, put on some good music and capture a mood for your process.
Create a blend based on your mood
We make it easy by adding the mental benefit of each essential oil on the front so that you can create a blend based on what you want to feel. You can create a different blend when you need some self-love or when you're throwing a party and want to uplift the whole room.

Essential oils like Patchouli, Bergamot and Ylang Ylang are used in many luxury fragrances because they smell great, but that's just scratching the surface of what these powerful potent extracts can do for your mind. When you smell Lavender's sedating scent you'll feel calm and comforted.
Humans are so complex and feel different things at different times but there are oils to help you on your journey. From oils for when you feel good like Geranium, or oils for when you need strength - there's an oil for your unique journey.
What's a wellness process?
It's up to you. It's the time that you take for yourself each day to unwind and find "me time". When we avoid processing emotions, they build up and cause stress. So, we decided to focus on essential oils because they have unique properties on the mind and body.
The science of scent
Memory and scent have a strong tie together through the brain's limbic system. When you inhale a pure plant extract like an essential oil, the terpenes in the plant are recieved by your olfactory system and the "messages" that are ingrained in the plant matter can cause reactions in the brain. Simply put, Lavender has calming properties and its the terpenes in the oil that allow your brain to understand "this smells relaxing, I'm going to relax now".
Even cooler, is the fact that we can train our brain through scent. The more you smell lavender, the quicker your brain will associate it with relaxing and that can be really helpful when you need to build a sleep routine. We practice Aromachology, the science of scent on emotion and it informs everything we create.
