Grapeseed Oil

huile de pépins de raisin

Effortless. That's the only word. Grapeseed glides onto skin so lightly it barely registers — then disappears completely, leaving behind a finish so clean it feels like nothing at all. Except your skin, but better.

If you've ever reached for a face oil and instantly regretted how heavy it felt — Grapeseed is the answer.

Pressed from the seeds of wine grapes and extraordinarily high in linoleic acid, Grapeseed Oil is one of the lightest, most skin-compatible carrier oils in existence. It absorbs so quickly you'll wonder if it did anything at all — until you look in the mirror. The finish is clean, balanced, and matte. Not oily. Not shiny. Just skin that looks like skin, but healthier.

It's also packed with oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) — some of nature's most potent antioxidants — which protect against environmental damage and support the skin's long-term resilience. For oily and acne-prone skin, for essential oil blending, for anyone who thought they couldn't wear a facial oil: this is the one.

Product with packaging and founder note

The science is simple. The results speak for themselves.

We sourced our Grapeseed Oil from Bordeaux, France — not as a branding decision, but because the wine-country grapes there produce a seed oil of a completely different calibre. The linoleic acid content is higher, the purity is exceptional, and the results on skin are visible. Every batch is triple tested.

"Every bottle contains exactly what it says — nothing more, nothing less."

- Sarah Sangha, Founder of Vellum Wellness

Grapeseed Oil

Vitis vinifera

Origin
Bordeaux, France
Method
Cold-pressed from the seed
Rich in
Linoleic acid · vitamin E · OPCs

Grapeseed oil's remarkable lightness comes from its high linoleic acid content — a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid that is structurally very small, allowing it to penetrate the skin rapidly without surface residue. Research suggests that acne-prone skin is often deficient in linoleic acid, which is part of why it overproduces sebum. Regular use of linoleic-rich oils like grapeseed helps correct this imbalance. Its oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) are 20 times more potent than vitamin C and 50 times more potent than vitamin E as antioxidants — making it one of the most protective oils available.

Q1 Is Grapeseed Oil good for oily skin?

Yes — it's one of the best oils for oily skin. Its high linoleic acid content helps regulate sebum production over time, and its ultra-lightweight texture means it won't add surface oiliness. Many people with chronically oily skin find their skin becomes more balanced with consistent use.

Q2 Can I use it if I'm acne-prone?

Yes. Grapeseed is non-comedogenic, lightweight, and high in linoleic acid — which research suggests is often deficient in acne-prone skin. It's one of our top recommendations for this skin type.

Q3 How does it compare to Jojoba?

Grapeseed is lighter and absorbs even faster than Jojoba. For very oily or acne-prone skin, Grapeseed is typically preferred. For combination or dry skin, Jojoba may be more appropriate. Both work well as carriers.

Q4 Can I wear it under makeup?

Yes — it's one of the best oils to use as a makeup base. Apply 2 drops, allow to absorb fully (about 30 seconds), and apply your makeup as normal. It provides hydration without a greasy base.

Q5 Can I mix it with Lavender essential oil?

Absolutely. Lavender in Grapeseed is one of our most recommended combinations — calming, lightweight, and excellent for acne and breakout-prone skin.

Q6 Does it expire?

Grapeseed oil is moderately stable but more prone to oxidation than Jojoba. We recommend storing it in a cool, dark place and using within 6–12 months of opening for optimal performance.
